Objective

BIOLOGICAL INSPIRED COMPUTING & APPLICATIONS

In recent times computational algorithms inspired by biological processes and evolution are gaining much popularity for solving science and engineering problems. These algorithms are broadly classified into evolutionary computation and swarm intelligence algorithms, which are based on the analogy of natural evolution and biological activities. These biological inspired computing methods include genetic algorithms, differential evolutionary algorithms, firefly algorithms, particle swarm optimization, ant colony optimization, etc. These methods have provided novel ways of problem-solving for real world problems in the field of networking, games, industry, robotics, economics, electrical, electronics, mechanical, civil and others. Therefore the primary objective of this workshop on “Biological Inspired Computing and Applications (BICA)” is to provide a platform for students, teachers, researchers and practitioners of artificial intelligence and engineering communities to encourage scientific research on biological inspired computing and applications in various science and engineering fields.

On this ground, GVP College of Engineering for Women, Kommadi, Madhurawada is organizing a National Workshop on Biological Inspired Computing and Applications (BICA – 2018) during 09th – 11th March, 2018. The principal goal of this workshop is to introduce some of the advanced topics on biological inspired computing methods and its applications to enhance the skill level of participants to encourage scientific research within these areas.
